The Students as Teachers resume...

This week’s presenters were fabulous. Here’ what the Bird Researchers shared with us....

The Peacock
by Violet Moyer

Facts:
1) A peacock is a male peafowl
2) Peacocks have bright colorful feathers
3) Their nests are on the ground, but they roost in trees
4) It lives in "India, Burma to Java, Congo (Africa)."
5) It eats "Plants and insects and snakes."

This was Violet’s choice “Because they are so pretty!”
  







The Cardinal
by Kaya Lewis

1) A Cardinal lays 3 or 4 eggs at one time 
2) A Cardinal is red and its beak is orange
3) Cardinals sing songs that sound like a whistle
4) It lives in "North and South America."
5) It eats "Seeds, fruit, bugs."

When asked why she studied this beautiful bird Kaya responded, “I like Cardinal, and because I'm in the Cardinal's class.”






The Parrot
by Noel Springer

1) Parrots make good pets
2) They make their nests in trees.
3) They can mimic voices
4) It lives "in jungles"
5) It eats "fruit, bugs"


Noel chose this bird to research “Because when they first hatch from the eggs, they're so cute!”
