We
ended our week with the most enjoyable experience! During the earlier part of the week, we had
witnessed the Doves raking leaves and thought what a great idea if we could join
them in this fun activity. We decided to invite the Doves for a walk around
campus and asked if they would share their child-size rakes with us. Without
hesitation, they said “Yes, of course! We LOVE to share” and brought their
rakes along. So, off we went in search for the perfect spot. After much walking,
we found the right place in the grove before the Meetinghouse.
Once
we determined the section, we talked about the boundaries so that everyone
would be within eye sight and safe. We also spoke about “rake sharing” and the
safe way to use it. Then, we invited all the Cardinals and Doves (including
teachers) to go and have an autumn fun!
Leaf
raking is an excellent outdoor exercise! The process of raking leaves provides a number of physical benefits.
Because you use your arms, shoulders, and torso to rake, the Cardinals and
Doves were provided with the opportunity to strengthen their growing upper-body
muscles. And to them, they were just
having fun!
