Fabulous Faces and Balloon Art

Fabulous Faces was formed in 2003 by AFS Parent, Jane Lashner and over the past five years the company has blossomed to serve clients in the five-county Philadelphia area.  Jane uses only the best hypo-allergenic water based makeup and supplies and the most beautiful fabulous face designs are created.  She uses the highest quality of balloons for the balloon art, too.

 Jane will be at the Book Fair 10:00-11:30 a.m. 

Human Chess 

A favorite tradition at the book fair.  Students of all ages wear costumes and have a ton of fun! And no, they do not have to know anything about chess.  If your child wants to play, sign up or meet in the Stewart Lobby (outside of the Faulkner Library).  Questions? They need 32 pieces (volunteers), so please come out and enjoy the fun!

Food Craft Project

Make a witch hat out of yummy sweets.

Fun and edible, it’s for children of all ages.  Come to our concession stand to get your craft supplies.

Harry Potter Trivia

Students will develop teams or be placed on a team, to see who has the most knowledge about Harry Potter!    How much do you really know about Harry Potter?!?   

The magic begins promptly at 12 p.m.

Magic Card Tournament

Using the brand new set of Magic cards, Theros, which is themed on Greek and Roman mythology, Magic players can enjoy a friendly tournament from 10am - 1pm.  Land cards will be provided.  An entry fee of $15 gets you six packs to open and build your deck with.  Then we will play three rounds of matches, with a prize pack awarded each time you win a round!  Every year, we have AFSers and friends, from Lower School through alumni who graduated years ago, gathering to enjoy this game we love and take part in the magical atmosphere of the Book Fair.  All players are welcome, as long as you know how to play the game.

Tournament will start promptly at 10:00am.
