Each year, Abington Friends School is honored to celebrate the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. by engaging in a day of service.  We will join together on Monday, January 20, 2014. The day will begin at the Meetinghouse with registration at 8:30 a.m. and conclude by noon.  We have many different service and community building opportunities planned on and off campus. Projects include: Aid for Friends meal preparation, game and activity creating for St. Christopher’s Children’s Hospital, cookie decorating for Face to Face and Whosoever Gospel Mission, activities at Rydal Park, and a clothing sale to benefit Women’s Center of Montgomery County. We are currently collecting the following items for our Day of Service:

Clean, gently used clothing for all ages
Clothing sale to benefit the Women’s Center of Montgomery County

Winter Care Kit Items to benefit Whosoever Gospel Mission:
Shaving cream               Toothpaste                  Toothbrushes              
Disposable razors           Men’s socks                 Chapstick
Shampoo                       Combs                         Soap                       
Washcloths                    Men’s deodorant          Small hand lotion

Used books of all types, especially children’s books and books in Spanish.  

Drop off locations are clearly designated in the Lower School lobby and the Stewart lobby in Upper/Middle School.  Thank you so much!
